New Paltz, NY (March, 2004) – Business Marketing Association (BMA), the preeminent Chicago-based national not-for-profit organization serving professionals from the business-to-business marketing and communications industries for more than 80 years, is pleased to announce that a Hudson Valley chapter has just been established, and that the chapter's next meeting, at Bacchus Restaurant in New Paltz on March 30, will feature the national organization's Executive Director Rick Kean as guest speaker.

Says Bob Kurtz, BMA Hudson Valley President, "The BMA has chapters in every major city in the country. Thanks to this powerful and well-respected organization, BMA members in the designated cities have had the opportunity to significantly improve their business-to-business marketing and marketing communications skills, resulting in greater productivity and profitability. With all of the growth that the Hudson Valley has experienced in the last few years, the establishment of a local chapter here comes not a moment too soon. There are many new and established businesses in the area that will now be able to benefit from this kind of national support and strategic guidance."

Like its parent organization, the Hudson Valley BMA will provide members with the knowledge, programs and resources they need to function at their highest level. The BMA is primarily an educational organization, and as such it provides diverse expert speakers and programs for its members on an ongoing basis. Adds Kurtz, "The idea is to leave each meeting with information you can immediately apply to your specific circumstances."

The March 30 meeting is positioned to do just that. According to Kean, who will speak on the subject of "Building the Brand Powerhouse," "Since standing out among a crowded field of companies offering similar products and services has become increasingly difficult, organizations are looking for strategic ways to build powerful and enduring business-to-business brands. BMA conducted a multi-client benchmarking study to examine the emerging trends in business-to-business branding and to uncover the characteristics of and requirements for success. We will examine the best practices of eight successful business-to-business marketers who have built brands that establish trust and credibility."

In addition to President Bob Kurtz, other board members of the newly formed chapter include Registration Head Patti Kurtz, Treasurer Ken Backofen, Membership Head Tracey Cifone, Secretary Shaun Johnston, and PR Specialist June Bisel.

Ann Fody, who served previously as the BMA President for the NJ chapter, is providing the Hudson Valley chapter with invaluable information resulting from her 18 year-long BMA affiliation. In particular, Fody is working closely with SUNY, New Paltz, to execute a mutually beneficial relationship between the Hudson Valley BMA and the SUNY New Paltz Business School.

The affiliation between Hudson Valley BMA and SUNY New Paltz Business School got its launch at the February 24 BMA meeting, at which SUNY's Business School Professor Theodore Clark was a guest speaker.

Interested business owners, marketing professionals, and others who wish to enhance their marketing techniques are encouraged to attend the March 30 meeting and learn first hand from Rick Kean what the organization has to offer. The meeting will take place at Bacchus Restaurant, 4 South Chestnut Street, New Paltz, NY from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. The registration fee for each attendee is $20.
